LET’S KEEP IT : 0.7% by 2012
Ireland has made a commitment to the world’s poorest people - to spend 0.7% of national income on overseas aid by 2012. That’s just 70c in every €100.
Since the start of 2009 the Government has slashed €195 million from the overseas aid budget. We’re in real danger of breaking our aid promise.
